Games and Rides
The Colts Neck Country Fair prides itself on the quality of Rides and Games it provides. Below is an excerpt from one of our press releases on Majestic Midways who provide the rides for the fair and have been recognized by the State of New Jersey .
We are very
fortunate to have Jake Inners, owner of
Majestic Midways,
providing the carnival rides for the Colts Neck Fair again this
year.
Mr. Inners is a
second generation Carnival Man. His father started in the
business back in 1909 as a trapeze artist. In 1914, a mishap
made him unable to continue performing, so he began to dabble in the
carnival/vaudeville world. He opened up the first motion
picture theatre in York, Pennsylvania, and was the founder of the
first major Fire Company in York. He was a painter and
paperhanger by trade, but his love of performing brought him back to
working carnivals each summer. Soon, he decided to start his
own carnival business. He died in 1954, leaving Jake’s brother
Ed Inners to run the business until Jake came home from Air force.
The two brothers worked together growing the family business until
1974, when Jake decided to venture out on his own.
So began Majestic Midway. Jake began to purchase his own
equipment, and expanded from 16 rides to 37.
Mr. Inners is
very active in the Outdoor Amusement Industry. He is involved
in the Pennsylvania State Showman’s Association as well as the OABA
- Outdoor Amusement Business Association. The OABA has been
serving the industry for over 35 years, and boasts more than 4,000
members. It’s top priority is the safety of carnival guests,
including developing standards of safety and regulation for
carnivals. They sponsor educational seminars and provide
important safety training materials for member’s staff and
employees.
Four separate governors have appointed him to the Governors Amusement Ride Safety Board in Pennsylvania.
Inflatables are located in our playland area where younger children can also take a pony ride or walk through our petting zoo. Dad can take a shot at the Lions club hole in one challenge. Our inflatables are provided by My Inflatable Adventures.
